Our Military Kids® is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering extracurricular activity grants to children and teens of deployed National Guard, deployed Reserve, or post-9/11 combat wounded, ill, or injured Veterans in treatment. OMK activity grants build the children's self-confidence, enhance family wellness, and strengthen a shared sense of community.
Since 2004, Our Military Kids has proudly provided more than 88,000 activity scholarships worth $32 million to children and teens in all 50 states, U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.
While a service member is deployed overseas or activated on a stateside mission with the National Guard or Reserve, Our Military Kids offers grants to pay for extracurricular activities for their children, ages 1-18. These grants can be used to pay for a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports teams, music lessons, tutoring, and summer camp, to help children relieve stress, connect with peers and mentors, and gain lifelong skills while a parent serves our country. Make sure your child meets the program requirements. Select your activity and submit your documents.
An award packet with several tokens of appreciation is sent to your child’s home, and will include a check made out to the chosen organization. Your child will also receive a letter letting them know how grateful we are for their sacrifice.
The child participates in the grant activity and has fun doing something they love. Each child also receives a “Thank You” postcard to send to the donor who paid for their grant. This is a great opportunity for the kids to reach out and show their gratitude to the people who support our program.
