Show Some Love for Our Military Kids, CFC #12357
McLean, Virginia – Federal employees can support Our Military Kids during the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Region, running now until January 11, 2019. Current and retired federal employees – military and civilian – can choose #12357 to make tax deductible contributions directly from their paychecks to support military kids whose parents are deployed with the National Guard or Reserves, or recovering from severe combat-related injuries incurred in any branch of service.
To date, the CFC has helped pay for more than 800 children to participate in activities while their parents were deployed or recovering from severe combat-related injuries. Activities range from sports, fine arts, to summer camp, tutoring and driver’s ed. With requests for grant up 25% over last year, support from federal employees can make a huge difference for military children who are dealing with the stress and challenges of a deployment parent or one recovering from severe injuries.
A woman whose three daughters received grants for driver’s education, soccer and gymnastics, wrote about the impact on her family.
“We are beyond grateful for all the staff and donors of Our Military Kids. These grants allowed our children to enjoy what they love and stay focused, especially important because their dad is a wounded warrior. We are truly blessed to have organizations who can provide an outlet for our military children.”
Since 2004, Our Military Kids has provided more than 61,000 grants totaling $25 million. With consecutive four-star charity navigator ratings, Our Military Kids ranks among the most efficient children’s and military charities. Federal employees or retirees who wish to donate or learn more about the campaign should visit https://cfcgiving.opm.gov/offerings.
