Congratulations to Damien, 11, from Texas – the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve WINNER of OMK’s Courageous Kids of 2021 Contest sponsored by Navy Federal Credit Union! 

“Damien showed resilience by learning and excelling in soccer,” said his mother. “He was selected to participate in the All-American National Tournament. He did this while playing two leagues with his club team, being selected as Team Captain, making A/B Honor Roll, and volunteering at the local animal shelter.  

“Damien also showed strength by mentoring and training a 2015 team. He truly stepped up to improve his soccer skills, IQ, schoolwork and community outreach while his dad was deployed. It took tremendous courage to take on all these ventures and be successful!” 

Damien and his brother, Noah, have each received Our Military Kids grants for soccer during their father’s deployment. Thank you, Damien + family, for your service!
